| ACCUDOCK ATTACHMENT METHODS | ||
Accudock has worked with almost every possibility imaginable when it comes to securing a floating dock into position. When determining the best solution for your situation, the first step is to figure out where the dock will be attaching to.

HOW YOUR DOCK WILL BE INSTALLED ATTACH TO A FIXED DOCK OR SEAWALL: The best choice when attaching a floating dock to your existing fixed dock or to a seawall, is the Accudock universal slide assemblies.
Please see our Slide Assemblies page for more information. We have standard sizes which work for most cases, however as seen below, we do custom fabricate slide assemblies for unusual situations.
We also offer piling hoop brackets which attach around an existing piling, and provide sufficient attachment for customers looking to cut down on cost. They do not offer the amount of stability of the slide assemblies on smaller docks, however the larger the dock size, the more stability it has in itself and piling hoop brackets do the trick. Also great for applications where there is not enough room for slide assemblies.
ATTACH ACCUDOCK LOW PROFILE DOCKS TO AN EXISTING FLOATING DOCK: Accudock receives inquiries daily about adapting our low profile dock sections to customer’s existing docks that sit too high off the water. Our low profile docks are much lower to the water level than most other floating dock companies, so we adapted our regular slide assemblies to make custom small slide assemblies that attach to and create a step down to Accudock floating docks.
ATTACH ACCUDOCK TO THE SHORELINE: The most common way to attach to the shoreline is using a length of pipe that is to be driven into the seafloor, and holds the dock in place with one of our 3” spud brackets. These are great attachments for calm pond or lake conditions. Cosmetic PVC covers can be added as an option rather than having exposed pipe.
We also sell a pipe auger setup to assist in anchoring the pipe into position, the auger is attached to the bottom of a pipe, and burrows into the seabed as it is turned. Pictures below show auger head to the left and turning tool on the right.
FOR FLOATING DOCK SETUPS THAT EXTEND OUT INTO THE WATER: Additional anchoring is going to be needed for docks that run perpendicular to the shoreline. The outboard end will sway back and forth if it is not properly anchored. Cross anchors are the easiest answer. Please Contact Us for more information on securing your dock properly. INSTALLED WITH GANGWAYS AND CONTROL ARMS: Accudock gangways are built to specification and are typically required to get out away from the shore to a water depth that is desired. Our aluminum gangways are made in house using an arched design for either commercial or residential uses. Click here for more information on our line of Gangways and Ramps.
The most common attachment method for gangways and floating docks are hinging on the land side, and rolling on the floating dock. This is not a sufficient enough way of holding the dock into position, cabling, pilings, or anchors are still needed. For larger docks, heavy duty control arms may be necessary. Please Contact Us to determine the best secondary attachment method for your gangway and dock setup. |
