The SAFE-LAUNCH PLATFORM - available in 8' and 12' models. Can be added as an accessory to any Accudock Kayak Slip dock, or the Drive-thru Kayak Dock at the time of the original installation - or added later as an accessory. STEP 0: Turn the SAFE-LAUNCH over to install the “line retainer loops” to the underside. (NOTE: THESE MAY ALREADY BE INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY)
The location holes are pre-drilled - attach as in the pictures below and tighten.

STEP 1: Remove the two bolts from the frame of the float, which the SAFE-LAUNCH PLATFORM “HINGE PLATE” will be attached to.
The SAFE-LAUNCH may already be attached to the third position of the hinge plate at the time of shipping depending on availability of shipping space - if it is not attached- attach it prior to STEP 2.
STEP 2: Position the SAFE-LAUNCH so that the holes line up, and replace the removed bolts with the longer bolts and tighten in place.
STEP 3: Run the adjustment rope/line thru the retainer hoops and tie off to the cleats, allowing the "entry end" of the SAFE-LAUNCH PLATFORM to sit about 12 inches down from the walking surface of the floating dock:
Your SAFE-LAUNCH PLATFORM is installed.
SAFE-LAUNCH PLATFORM ADJUSTMENT:
The platform has two areas of adjustment – the 4 position hinge plate, and the "entry end" of the platform, with the adjustable rope/line to the cleats.
Generally the hinge plate will work best in position three: But allows for adjustment due to kayak size and weight of kayaker. Do not adjust this end until you have adjusted the "entry end" of the platform.
If adjustment is necessary - loosen bolts, move to the next position up or down and re-insert and tighten.
The main adjustment of the platform will be on the "entry end" of the SAFE-LAUNCH PLATFORM. Simply raising or lowering the platform until you have the correct amount of slant:
What you are trying to achieve:
A kayak sitting stably on the platform (not floating away) but with enough water under it, so that you can easily move yourself in and out of the slip, with very little effort. You should be able to step into and stand up in your kayak. If there is too much water under your kayak - so that it floats too much, and you can’t stand stably in your kayak - raise the platform up by shortening the line to the cleats. You just don’t want to lift it too high so that there is too little water under the kayak to allow you to slide in and out of the slip easily.
This is a very easy adjustment - you will most likely not have to adjust it at all.

You can see that in the example picture above, the water only covers about 3' of the 8' long SAFE-LAUNCH PLATFORM.
WHEN YOU ARE DONE USING YOUR SAFE-LAUNCH PLATFORM, RAISE THE PLATFORM UP AND TIE IT OFF SO THAT IT IS NOT SITTING IN THE WATER COLLECTING ALGAE, BARNACLES ETC. THIS KEEPS THE ENTRY POINT CLEAN - AS THIS IS THE PORTION THAT YOU KAYAK ROLLS ACROSS WHEN ENTERING AND EXITING THE KAYAK.
