1. Is the work float stable? Yes, and you can attach 2 or more floats together to get real stability. Once you have at least 12 feet of float you get real stability, and when you get up above 16 feet you can stand safely on the corners. A work floats stability is just like the difference in stability between a 5 foot dinghy and a 20 foot boat. The bigger the float, the more stability.

2. What makes it float? There is a block of foam (polystyrene) inside the float, not just air! It cannot sink. |

3. How portable are they? The work float weighs only 67 pounds and can be retrieved from the water by one person; two persons easily.
Accessory tool for one person to easily carry a 4 X 8 work float
The framed work float weighs only 103 pounds and can be handled easily by two persons, and fits perfectly in the back of a pick-up truck.

4. What is it made out of? HDPE (high density polyethylene), same material high quality truck bed liners are made of. It is very durable and takes a "beating". Does not fade or crack. |
 |
| |
5. How can I attach 2 or more floats together? We suggest using the AccuDock patented aluminum frame system, which was designed for the sole purpose of attaching dock sections together easily and rigidly so that there is no rocking or rolling between sections. It is made of marine grade aluminum, and allows the user to connect the frames together end to end, or side by side, "T", "L" and "U" shaped, whatever shape you desire.

6. How much weight can the floats hold? Each 4' X 8' float is rated to 1055 pounds. On our larger floats, you can put scaffolding, equipment, machinery, anchors - the bigger you make the float - the more it will stably hold. (see Specs page)

7. Do I need to put bottom paint on the float? Our floats are light enough (especially our unframed work float 67 lbs) that you can pull them out of the water and hose them off periodically. Bottom growth comes off easily. |
 |
| |
8. How far off the water does the surface of the dock sit? 6-7 inches. We specialize in "low profile" floats, but can custom make your dock any height you want. Our low profile docks allow you to get down to the boot stripe of a boat easily when waxing the side of your boat.

Easily reach the waterline

9. Do you need bumpers to protect the boat from the side of the float? No. However we do sell a "bumper package" which is two 5" X 18" Taylor Made bumpers (for the individual 4 X 8 work float). It is always better to have a bumper between your boat and anything that comes in contact with it!
For the framed floats we have bump strip available to protect your boat from the edge of the float.

10 .What does it cost to ship it? Just give us a call or Contact Us and we will send you an estimate. As our floats are lightweight - but bulky in shape/size to ship, we can usually ship 2 or 3 for the same price as one - so if you know someone else who needs one - take advantage of the savings
