About the Project
In order to provide a safer and more accessible waterfront experience, Camp Chipinaw & Silver Lake needed to replace their aging docks. The camps, which focus on outdoor recreational activities, recognized that their existing docks were in disrepair and no longer met the necessary standards for the safety and well-being of their campers.
They required a durable and reliable solution that would not only provide a safe platform for waterfront activities but also accommodate the diverse needs of their campers. The new docks needed to be easily accessible for all, ensuring that every camper could fully participate in the camps’ beloved water-based programming without concern.

About the Solution
Camp Chipinaw & Silver Lake both operate under the same management team, and there was an emphasis to maintain aesthetics and functionality between the two camps’ new dock systems which occupy the same lake. Featuring 6 separate docks in total. Two large waterfront docks are centerpieces which offer a variety of water sport activities for campers between the ages of seven to sixteen including kayak/canoe with storage, a mounted basketball hoop, and custom 3-level dive towers with water slides. Three different point docks are used solely for water skiing and tubing activities. The final dock is strictly for fishing and boat access. All docks include either a small ramp where shore access is available, or a longer aluminum gangway off an elevated deck. In total, over 5,000 sq ft of new floating docks with a two-toned color combination of Wolf Cypress PVC decking and Rosewood side skirting were installed by the campgrounds crew in less than 1 week.

About the Results
These extensive additions provide campers with vastly improved access to the water, allowing for more simultaneous activities, easier access for various boats, and dedicated spaces for fishing, swimming and other watersports. The new docks not only improve safety and organization but also create more opportunities for fun and memorable waterfront adventures.
