Today, it stands as one of the largest and most well-known camp and conference centers in the United States, serving over 30,000 guests each year through its various departments. The tranquil waters of the pond offer a siren’s call to campers but reaching them for a day of canoeing or an afternoon of fishing was a formidable task. Without a proper dock, campers were confined to the muddy banks. Recognizing this unfulfilled potential, YMCA Camp Kern answered the call, introducing a versatile, multi-use solution to make every water-based adventure more accessible and enjoyable for their eager campers.

As part of the property enhancement, a custom 20′ x 36′ AccuDock floating fishing pier was installed to upgrade the waterfront infrastructure. Featuring Amberwood PVC decking and secure triple aluminum railings, the new dock provides a safe, slip-resistant, and durable platform designed to withstand heavy use while supporting a wide range of camp water activities.

By partnering with AccuDock, YMCA Camp Kern brought its vision for waterfront access to life. The new floating dock provides safe, welcoming access to the water for campers of all ages and abilities, turning what was once an inaccessible pond into one of camp’s most enjoyed destinations.
